Deluxe sandwich

Presentation

Today I will guide you in preparing an amazing deluxe sandwich that combines authentic Italian flavors: sausage, omelette, cheese and spinach. This recipe is simple, delicious and perfect for a quick lunch or special dinner. Follow my advice step by step and bring a piece of Italy into your kitchen.

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium sandwich (100 gram ciabatta)
  • 350 grams of sausages
  • 100 grams of spinach
  • 40 grams of cheese (Monte Veronese)
  • 1 egg
  • olive oil to taste
  • salt to taste

Preparation:

Preparing ingredients and cooking spinach

1 Remove the casings from the sausages and, if they are as large as mine, divide them in half lengthwise so that they are 2-3 centimeters thick. Then 2 cut the cheese into cubes or thin slices and wash the spinach. In a pan add enough olive oil, a crushed garlic clove and the washed spinach 3 , cover with a lid for 2 minutes. When the spinach begins to wilt, remove the lid, add the salt and cook over medium heat for about three minutes, continuing to stir it.

Dough

Once the spinach is cooked, place it in a bowl and in the same pan 4 cook the sausages over medium heat, immediately putting the lid on. Cook for 3-4 minutes then remove the lid, turn them over and cook until the pan is dry and the sausages are lightly browned. 5 At this point, turn off the heat, add the previously cooked spinach to the pan and cover to maintain the heat. In another non-stick pan, add a drizzle of olive oil and a whole egg, break the yolk 6 and mix it lightly with the egg white, cover the pan and cook over a low heat until the egg has solidified.

Cooking

At this point, flip the egg, 7 distribute the cheese cubes on the surface, cover the pan and leave to cook on low heat until the cheese has melted. 8 Now all we have to do is make the sandwich. Cut the sandwich in half and add the omelette with cheese on top, then distribute 9 sausages on top and finally the spinach, close the sandwich and enjoy your meal!

Advise

  • Don't overcook the spinach otherwise it will lose its texture and shine.
  • If you want super crunchy bread, choose a ciabatta and toast it on the inside too.
  • You can also add aromatic herbs such as oregano or basil to the omelette to add an extra aroma to your succulent sandwich.
